FRANK ZAPPA - EAT THAT QUESTION - Film Forum 6/24/16 New York City

Being a video archivist of All Things Zappa for many years and having seen the trailer for this film prior to viewing I assumed I had (pardon the expression) "Seen It All" or at least most of it but this left me filled with awe at the amount I had not.

I Love this film.

Pete Townshend, Bob Fripp, Bill Bruford and Frank Zappa are my "go to" guys for interviews in the Music world and this film consists of musings from the late great Mr. Zappa many of which this Video Archivist had not seen.

Damn, I missed the Q & A but had no idea as I purchased my tickets earlier than this was announced.

From my point of view this was a completely laid back, overly confident and self assured show which might be why my drumstick went "flying" out of my hand during our first number to be astutely returned by the sound technician right behind me and why I made a sloppy fill during our last song. All in all a success and Jazelyn sang Happy Birthday to me from the bandstand. This gig saw the return of our song (not the band) "Midnight Oil" and the premiere of. Later in the evening some guy offered to buy my birthday crown for twenty dollars and after asking Jamie (whose father the crown belonged to) what she thought the dollar crown was sold for Big Profits and went towards a Delicious Mexican meal at Panchito's on McDougal street.

A mainstay of the Strip of Indian Restaurants on Sixth street in Greenwich Village for at least 20 years now the Raj Mahal stands a few steps down under sidewalk level but follow the exotic scents of musk and venture close enough to ask "How Much Is That Sitar Player In The Window" and you have found one of the best spots on the block, Many Restaurants have come and gone in the last two decades but some remain because the returning clientele know quality when they taste it.

Tap Water and Hospitality are complimentary.



The Crunchy Crispy Classic, The Papadum.



A bit on the tomato-ey side for me but All Mulligatawny Soup's are Created Delicious.



It looks just like a Vegetable Samosa but this is a Meat One.



The Ever Popular Tandoori Chicken which in my honest opinion might as well be American Food (It tastes like Roast Chicken Breast, what makes Tandoori Chicken taste Indian ? ,..... NOTHING) but she came with a Vegetable Curry on the side not to mention Basmati Rice and toasty Nan Bread which does make things a tad more eastern.



And of course what would any night out be without dessert.
